Because the filesystem layout was changed for 2023.1, older versions of the Python API are unable to locate the software and data in its new location. We aim to fix this in a future release.
Currently the recommended resolution for this issue is to update your CSD Python API to the latest version. Installer links for the standalone Python API are obtained by filling out the same CSDS Downloads Form as for the main CSD Portfolio installers, or if you installed it from our online conda or pip channels you can update all packages in your environment in the usual way e.g. conda update --all.
Another possible cause for this issue is that the CSD.ini file with the location of the data has not been created. The easiest way to create it is to run Mercury once - if the software and data are installed in the same location it will create CSD.ini automatically, otherwise it will allow you to browse to the data then create a CSD.ini file pointing at it.
