What happens to my data if the paper is rejected by the journal?

Modified on Thu, 22 May at 10:06 PM

If your paper is rejected by the journal to which it was originally submitted and you resubmit it to another journal, you do not need to notify us of the journal change. We have established workflows with all the major publishers that enable us to update publication details automatically. In this case, supplying a new CIF is not necessary unless the data have been revised.

If your paper is rejected and you have not resubmitted to another journal, we will keep your data in our confidential archive and await publication. After one year, we may contact you to check if publication is still in progress or if you would prefer us to enter your structure into the Cambridge Structural Database (CSD) as a CSD Communication, or into the Inorganic Crystal Structure Database (ICSD) as an ICSD Communication.
