What happens to my data once they have been submitted?

Modified on Thu, 22 May at 11:49 PM

You will receive your deposition numbers via email once your data has been submitted to the CCDC. These are usually sent within 3 working hours of deposition and, in most cases, within just a few minutes.

Unless you choose to share your data immediately as a CSD Communication or ICSD Communication, your data will remain confidential until the associated article is published. However, it may be made available to journal referees upon request. Please include the deposition number as a footnote in your manuscript so that individual datasets can be accessed upon publication.

If any of your structures are not published within one year of deposition, the CCDC will contact you and offer the option to extend the embargo period. If you do not respond, and no co-author instructs otherwise, your structures may be added as CSD Communications or ICSD Communications at the end of the embargo period.
