IsoStar is a client-server system which uses an http server to make data about intermolecular interactions available. Most users will connect their client to the CCDC's server.
Client:
The IsoStar client is part of the CSD Portfolio and the system requirements and supported platforms are listed in this FAQ.
Server:
The IsoStar 2023.3 server (including IsoGen), supplied with the 2023.3 and later releases of the CSD Portfolio, is supported on the following platforms and operating systems:
- Linux - Intel compatible, 64-bit:
- RedHat Enterprise 7.6 or higher, and 8
- CentOS 7.6 or higher, and 8
Note: the IsoStar server is not supported on Mac OS X or Windows operating systems.
IsoStar has been tested when installed natively on these platforms. Use with emulators, including virtual machines, has not been tested & is not supported.
If you choose to use an operating system other than those listed above we cannot guarantee that the 2023.3 IsoStar server will work correctly, although we will attempt to assist you with any problems you may encounter.
Linux platforms will require the Network Security Services (NSS) and libXScrnSaver packages to be installed.
