The embargo period for deposited data at the CCDC is initially set to one year from the date of deposition. During this embargo, your data is held confidential and is not made publicly accessible unless it is published in the literature or directly shared through the CCDC as a CSD Communications or via FIZ Karlsruhe as an ICSD Communication.
At the end of the embargo period, we will contact you to confirm whether you wish to make the data publicly available through the CSD or ICSD, or if you prefer to extend the embargo for an additional year.
You can now extend the embargo period yourself via our deposition services. To do so, register for an account on our website and log in. Navigate to the ‘MyStructures’ view, where you will see a list of your deposited structures. Any structure marked as ‘Unpublished’ has not yet been made public or added to the CSD or ICSD. To view the embargo details for a structure, click the ‘Details’ button. On the details page, you will see the current embargoed date and have the option to extend it by one year by clicking ‘Extend’.
Please note that when your embargoed date expires, your data will not automatically be disclosed. Instead, we use this date to remind you of any unpublished structures and to ask how you would like to proceed with the data.
